So you want to be a film actor?
SCREENS are experienced trainers of actors, teachers, directors, film-makers, facilitators in the genres of live performance and film; we recognise the need for professionalism and quality. Josephine Larsen, a highly regarded theatre director, actor (in her own right) and trainer is the facilitator of SCREENS. Trained at the Bristol Old Vic Theatre School in the same years at Pete Postlethwaite and Peter Richardson. Her experience is invaluable if you want to excel in the craft of professional film-acting. She has developed her own unique and utterly engaging training system for actors; bringing out qualities that some never believed they could access.
The skills for screen acting are taught through a series of workshops; taking you through the various modes of film acting techniques. Acting for screen, although using many of the skills necessary to deliver a theatrical performance, is essentially a different discipline to master; one has to act as if the first 'take' is an experience that is being visited for the first time; each 'take' needs to envelop you wholly as if it is an occurrence that you have never experienced before; each 'take' needs to have a fresh and vital energy.
We believe that training people in the field of film acting is imperative if we wish to continue to deliver qualified & professional screen actors for the British Film Industry.
